Islamorada bars should be in short supply, due to the fact of the size of the island of Islamorada.
Well at least that is what we thought when we first visited the island of Islamorada.
But you would be wrong.....oh yes, lucky for you, you would be wrong big-time.
Because even though the island is only 7 miles in area, there are quite a few bars and pubs scattered across the place.
Many of the Islamorada bars, are based more on dining, so you can easily grab a bite to eat and a few drinks if you fancy it, so make sure you take a read of our guide to the best restaurants in Islamorada.
However, on this page we have tried to keep as faithful to the idea of the classic Florida Keys drinking establishment as we can.
And remember as we have said on the other pages that focus in on the best of Florida Keys bars and nightclubs, if you find somewhere that we haven't mentioned then drop us a line and we will add it on for you.
So cheers, and enjoy.
Ziggie & Mad Dogs
"We have the best fermented beverages in the Florida Keys" they proclaim and that would be a bold statement for Islamorada Bars generally, but the whole Florida Keys?
I'm not sure, but Ziggie & Mad Dogs, certainly have got a very good selection of wines, chilled beers, liqueurs, and cocktails.
So drive down US1 until you get to MM 83, and you'll find Ziggies.
Bar opens after 17:00pm each day, although the restaurant part opens thirty minutes later.

Hog Heaven
If you are wandering around in the early hours, Islamorada bars such as Hog Heaven are the place to get a burger and a drink to push you through until sunrise.
Serving food until 3:30am, this is a classic late night haunt in a sleepy Islamorada cove, and is a great place for watching sport on 17 flat screens, sitting out on Hog Heavens private beach, or just getting down to the late night DJ.
Islamorada bars should all be like the Hog, as they go out their way to tailor for all requirements.

Bentley's Raw Bar Restaurant
Islamorada Bars like Bentleys are definitely more restaurant than pub, but they could be a useful place to go for some low cost early evening drinking, as happy hour starts at 16:00pm and runs for three hours.
They certainly have an extensive list of red and white wines, although I haven't been in there for awhile, so I'm not sure if they do beers or not.
I imagine so, but it would be best to check using the contact details below before visiting.

Lorelei Restaurant & Cabana Bar
This Cabana Bar is renowned for its great food, great location and really relaxed way of doing things.
And although in the evening you might want a bit of hustle and bustle during the day when the sun is shining, Islamorada bars should be relaxed and chilled.
So get there late afteroon, pull up a chair, grab a beer, and watch the sun go down across the water, before settling into a lovely plate of whatever you fancy.

Tiki Bar Holiday Isle
The Tiki Bar in Islamorada is the home of the original rum runner cocktail.
Just let that sink in, as you sit under the canopy of straw in the most famous of all Islamorada Bars.
If it wasn't for this little place, bartenders all over the world would be looking around and saying "What the hell do we do with all this excesss rum?"
This iconic drinking establishment is open at noon on Monday through Friday and at 11AM on weekends.
And during the weekends you can listen to live music right until 1am in the morning....go on you know you want to. You don't have work the next day anyway!
